CNN Airs Aerial Photographs of DMZ

CNN took pictures of the DMZ from a plane and aired the photos in October 26.

The flight was for the project, “Korea seen from the sky” by Yann Arthus Bertrand, a world-renowned environmental activist and photographer, and CNN covered the flight.

Bertrand made his second visit to DMZ on October 21 after his first visit in June last year.

The photographing was done with the cooperation of the Ministry of National Defense and UN Military Armistice Commission. North Korea was notified of the flight beforehand.

He said, “It is hard to find a national border line in other countries. The security near the national border in Korea is very tight. I dislike national borders.” At an exhibition early next year, he plans to display the photos of Korea, which were taken for the past two years.
