China held a grand ceremony in a commemoration of the 57th anniversary of China’s October 1 national holiday in the Great Hall of the People in Beijing in the evening of September 30 attended by some 1,500 key figures including Chinese President Hu Jintao (center). A majority of citizens are on a one-week holiday and department stores, convenience stores, and traditional markets are offering bargain sales.
