Eruption

On August 15, lava is pouring out from the Mayon volcano in Legaspi south of Manila. Local experts on volcanoes said the volcano seems to be on the verge of an eruption as it has been belching out lava and gas frequently recently. Disaster officials in the Philippines evacuated 40,000 villagers who live within eight kilometers of the volcano.
