After Andrés Manuel López Obrador of the leftist Party of the Democratic Revolution lost the Mexican presidential election, his supporters took to the streets on August 14. They are standing face to face with the police in front of the Congress in Mexico City. On the very forefront of the demonstrators is Senator Elias Moreno Brizuela (left). Obrador’s supporters set up tents and protested that recounting only 9 percent of the total votes was unfair.
