SK defeated LG with difficulty to regain their position in fifth place. In a match at Jamsil Stadium on July 1, SK beat LG two to one, recording 30 wins and 34 losses. SK stepped up from sixth place, passing KIA by 0.002 in percentage of victories, while KIA’s match was cancelled due to rain.

In the 4th inning, after SK’s Park Jae-hong got to first base on four balls, Kim Jae-hyun moved onto base after his body was hit by a ball. With two outs, first and second base full, Jo Jung-geun hit the ball to the right, gaining the first score. Following this, in the fifth inning, with no outs and all bases full, and SK leading the score one to zero, LG changed pitchers. Shin Jae-Oong’s wild pitching allowed SK to get away with another point.

In the sixth inning, with SK on defense, LG was given one point by Ma Hae-young’s left field sacrificial fly ball, but SK kept their victory by not allowing any more points. LG lost opportunities to gain scores in the eighth inning, when they had first and second base full, and also in the ninth inning with no outs, first and second base full. They showed a lackluster game, gaining one point with nine base hits and three walks.

Meanwhile according to the Korea Baseball Organization’s management calendar for the hot summer season, weekday and Saturday matches will begin at 7:00 p.m. in July and August.
