High oil prices have stripped airplanes of their paint. Hong Kong-based Cathay Pacific Airlines has started to run cargo planes with bodies stripped of paint in order to cut flight costs. Stripping the body of much of its paint can reduce the plane’s total weight by 200kg and cut annual oil costs by 180 million won.
