Los Angeles Dodgers pitcher Seo Jae-weongs strong outing yesterday may have given him the inside track for the teams fifth starter slot. Seo started against the Detroit Tigers in a spring training game yesterday and allowed three hits, one walk, and one run in six innings.
But for the rest of the Korean players in the majors, trouble came a-knocking.
Kim Byung-hyun (Colorado Rockies) and Choi Hee-seop (Boston Red Sox) suffered injuries yesterday. In a game against San Francisco, Kim went to the mound in the sixth inning and pitched two scoreless innings, but injured his right thigh in the seventh inning making a play on a runner. Kim is listed as day to day.
Choi Hee-seop ended the Cincinnati game with no hits in three at-bats and complained about muscle pain in his left thigh. Choi is scheduled for thorough medical examinations on March 30.
Park Chan-ho (San Diego Padres) was shelled in his outing against the Los Angeles Angels yesterday, giving up 12 hits and six runs in 3 2/3 innings.
