First Asian ‘Bell Labs’ to Be in Seoul

Bell Laboratories, a world-renowned information and communications technology (ICT) research center, will open its first Asian laboratories in Seoul.

Seoul Mayor Lee Myung-bak and the president of Bell Laboratories Kim Jeong-hun signed a memorandum of understanding at City Hall yesterday.

“Seoul Bell Laboratories” (tentative name) will develop ICT business models linking universities and businesses. With the launch of the laboratories, Seoul is expected to develop into a hub of ICT research in Asia.
