Anti-American Demonstrations in Brazil

On November 5, demonstrators against the visit of the U.S. President George W. Bush to Brazil held up picket signs calling him a Nazi Hitler. The U.S. leader arrived in Brazil to meet with President Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva after the fourth summit of the Americas in Argentina. The summit that focused on trade negotiations and the creation of the Free Trade Area of the Americas was stalemated due to objections by South American leftist nations.
