Germanys New Chancellor
Angela Merkel (left), leader of the CDU-CSU coalition, is deep in thought in a car on Monday on her way to a CDU-CSU leaders meeting. The German media reported that a grand coalition meeting between Merkel, Chancellor Schröder, SPD chairman Franz Müntefering, and CSU boss Edmund Stoiber resulted in the selection of Merkel as the next chancellor of Germany.
