The Crakes Are Still Alive

There is a children’s song on the subject of the crakes, “When a crake cries, the brother who went to Seoul will come back…” With fall coming, a precious guest has returned. An injured band-bellied crake was found on September 26 at a construction site of Kumho Construction and Engineering and was rescued by construction workers there. One of the protected species, the band-bellied crake was believed to be extinct prior to this day. The bird species had not been observed alive since its collection record in 1962.
