New Japanese History Textbook Goes on Sale Tomorrow

According a Sankei Shimbun report on July 31, a new history textbook for middle school students published by the Fusosha Textbook Publishing Company (FTPC) and written by the Society for New History Textbooks (Tsukurukai), a Japanese right-wing organization, will go on sale starting August 2.

The publisher, notorious for distorting history in its textbooks, put a textbook on sale four years ago when the adoption of new history textbook was discussed. Thanks to the media’s consecutive report over the textbook, 770,000 copies were sold at that time.
