1,000th-Term Marines Bow

On June 21, prior to entering the marine corps, 509 “1,000th-term” marines are bowing to their parents and relatives at the marine training boot camp in Pohang City, Gyeongbuk Province. These marines will be reborn as “1,000th-term marines” on August 5 after undergoing a six-week boot camp. Since its establishment in 1949, the marine corps has so far produced 630,000 marines.
