China’s recent anti-Japanese protests against Japan’s distorted history textbooks and unilateral claim over islands on the East China Sea are characterized as a voluntary movement by Chinese youths. Chinese college students are protesting on April 10 in Guangzhou, holding pickets depicting a Chinese phrase meaning “do not know that this is shameful” written on the cover of Japanese history text books.
