“Cha-boom Junior,” Cha Doo-ri (25, Frankfurt, photo) is rapidly growing as a player.

In a game against FC Saarbrucken in the secondary league of the Bundesliga, the German professional football league, Cha Doo-ri, led his team to a 3-0 victory, recording two assists.

Cha Doo-ri, who recorded one goal and one assist in a recent world all-star match held on February 16 to help tsunami victims, again recorded two assists by accurately passing the ball to teammates Jones and Cimen.

Cha Doo-ri had not scored offensive points (goals and assists) for two months since a game against Burghausen on December 11, 2003. Cha, playing full-time today, has played as a starter for six games in a row, and recorded two goals and four assists.

Frankfurt won, 3-0, with Weissenberger, Jones, and Cimen’s goals, and ranked in fifth place in the secondary league of the Bundesliga with 10 victories, four draws, and 8 losses.

As Cha has recently shown he is in great condition, it seems that it’s only a matter of time for him to return to the national soccer team. Although he cannot play in the match against Saudi Arabia which will be held on March 26 since he hit a player from another team in the match against Vietnam on September 8, 2004, it seems likely that he will be able to play in the match against Uzbekistan, which will be held on March 30.
