Monthly Salary of Privates to be 50,000 Won Next Year

The monthly salary of those in the military service (base on private first class) in 2005 is forecasted to be 50,000 won, reduced by 10,000 won from the original 60,000 won that the National Assembly’s National Defense Committee decided in November.

A key official of the Uri Party said on Thursday, December 23, “Considering the government’s limited budget, we have decided to raise the monthly pay of privates to 50,000 won from the current 35,000 won, and will present the related bill to the adjusting subcommittee of the special committee on budget and accounts.”
