President Roh to Attend Summit Talks on September 21

On September 19, President Roh Moo-hyun, along with first lady Kwon Yang-sook, will take the morning flight for Kazakhstan and then eventually on to Russia. President Roh will visit Kazakhstan on September 19 and 20 on a state visit, and subsequently will visit Russia officially until September 23. President Roh will attend a summit meeting with Russian President Vladimir Putin on September 21, with plans to discuss and jointly announce: the Trans-Siberian Railway (TSR) and Trans-Korean Railway (TKR) connection project for Russia’s Far East Siberia development; the introduction of gas pipelines in Eastern Siberia, Sakhalin, and other locations for energy development; and the development of space technology and other issues.
