A new star was born at the 2004 Athens Olympics: Yuliya Nesterenko (Belarus, left) at the women’s 100-meter final on Saturday. Nesterenko won the gold medal in a time of 10.93 seconds ahead of Lauryn Williams (10.96, U.S., right) and broke the American record of taking all the gold medals in the 100 meters since the 1984 Los Angeles Olympics.
