The reorganization plan for several government bodies, including the Financial Supervisory Commission, Financial Supervisory Service, Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade, and Ministry of Gender Equality, will be settled by the end of this month, and the government organization revision bill will come before the National Assembly during the regular session in September.

On June 10, a senior Cheong Wa Dae official explained, “If the government’s course of action is settled by the end of this month, each body will undergo discussions with the Uri Party. The discussions are estimated to last for almost 50 days, enabling the bill to be submitted at the regular session of the National Assembly.”

Regarding this issue, it has become known that the Presidential Committee on Government Innovation and Decentralization is planning to reorganize not only the financial supervisory divisions such as FSC and FSS, but also the trade branch of the MOFAT and the adolescent and family function branch of MOGE.

The Committee is also planning to streamline government bodies on small and medium-sized companies as four government bodies—Ministry of Commerce, Industry and Energy, Presidential Commission on Small and Medium Enterprises, Small and Medium Business Administration, and Small Business Corporation—are presently supervising SME policies.
