Tension Surrounds 15th Anniversary of Tiananmen Square Uprising

June 4, 2004 marks the 15th anniversary of the incident where Chinese government suppressed the democratization protests at Tiananmen Square in Beijing with harsh and bloody violence. Authorities performed the daily flag-raising ceremony in the square just like any other morning, but there was a large candlelight protest in Hong Kong commemorating the 15th anniversary of the Tiananmen Square Uprising.
