A special committee at the National Election Commission (NEC), which monitors election campaigns on the Internet, issued a warning to the Internet Hankyoreh Shinmun, Moneytoday, and Kyongbukilbo for violating the Election Law.

Based on its own survey, the Internet Hankyoreh Shinmun reported on Wednesday that 75 percent of netizens would not vote for candidates who supported the impeachment of the president. The NEC announced that the paper violated Clause Three of Article 108 of the Election Law that stipulates surveyees should represent all levels of society.

The committee also pointed out that Moneytoday favored a specific candidate by highlighting his campaign pledges on March 25.

Kyongbukilbo groundlessly predicted in its Saturday paper that a particular candidate in Sangju is likely to win since he has no strong competitors, the NEC said.

Meanwhile the NEC warned Ohmynews, which reported on the confrontation between Lee Bu-young and Kim Chung-hwan who are 12-year political comrades on March 19, ewincom, Kihoilbo, Goodday, Jeollailbo, Naeil Shinmun and Munhwailbo over their reports.
