Frauds worth of Hundreds of Millions Won were Disclosed

The special investigation unit of the National Police Agency sought arrest warrant against a woman identified as Song for falsely representing herself as a person close to the director of the national affair monitoring unit at Cheong Wa Dae, Lee Kwang-jae. She received 25.45million won from seven people for meeting their demands such as change of land usage. According to the police, Song said to people that she has been very close to director Lee and she supported Lee giving two million won every month before he became a director.

The special investigation unit also sought arrest warrant for three persons identified as Baek, Jo and Jeong for falsely representing themselves as officials from Cheong Wa Dae and deceived people into paying money to them. According to the police, Baek and Jo, the brother of a former lawmaker, pretended that they were officials from Cheong Wa Dae . They told people that the president ordered them to raise political funds of 400 billion won for the 17th general election and they are trying to sell the real estates of companies injected with public funds. They deceived people including a president of a construction company into paying 144 million won.
