Samsung Electronics, Agreed to Execute ‘Pocket PC’ Business with MS

On November 12, Samsung Electronics said that it agreed to execute ‘Pocket PC’ product business of PDA with Microsoft, US. Through the joint business, Samsung Electronics will supply ‘System On Chip (SOC) and product design for the pocket PC collecting the function of many chips on one chips, and MS will supply the operating system (OS) for the pocket OC.

It will produce the products by entrusting with OEM system or ODM system to the company of Taiwan, and then will sell the products in earnest from next year.

Pocket PC (10.4㎝* 7.24㎝* 0.92㎝) has LCD of 5 inch QVGA(320×240). The operation speed is 200㎒. Samsung Electronics said that it reduced a power consumption by 28% over the existing similar products.
