One of the specialties in Gimje area is clams just picked up on the beach. When you have a bite of a grilled fresh clam, you might feel like tasting the sea unfolded before your eyes.

Yeonseo Raw Fish Restaurant located under Manghae Temple that looks down over Mangeong River is a place where you can have a rare taste of fresh clams picked up on the beach.

Clams are often served uncooked like raw fish, but it’s better to get them grilled in summer and early fall when the temperature of the sea remains rather warm. You can grill them in wrapping foil. Once grilled, they taste savory and sweet. A clam rice soup is also worth trying.

The restaurant serves a wide variety of seafood from steamed blue crab to raw fish. A main dish is accompanied by some 20 kinds of side dishes.

Per kilogram, clams are sold for 20,000 won, blue crabs for 50,000 won and oonogai for 70,000 won. For further inquires, call 063-543-1900.
