"Pull down the North Korea Flag", A Threatening Telephone Call to Asian Game Organizing Committee

There are many threatening phone calls blaming a raise of the flag of the North Korea which will participate in Busan Asian Games.

The official of Busan Asian Game Organizing Committee said on September 18 “He has received a lot of phone calls saying they will pull down or damage the flag since the flag of North Korea was raised on the building of the Asian Games organizing committee and main media center on September 16. So, we are frustrated in the work.”

He said “Many people of far right organizations have called as the Asian Game becomes imminent. We tried to persuade that it is the pure sports event. But they protest against the raise of the flag of North Korea.”

The Asian Game Organizing Committee asked a cooperation and control for the successful Asian Game, but we are terribly afraid. If deplorable affairs occur during the Asian Game, there could the international dishonor and the objection & withdrawal of the North Korea.

Such as the police, national intelligence service and the ministry of unification, the government institutes have concentrated on checking the local situation and inquiring the related matters by calling to the organizing committee several times a day because of a criticism on the flag of the North Korea.
