Sergio Garcia - Choi Kyung-Ju Had 7 Birdies

‘Star of Europe’ Sergio Garcia (22, Spain), his fame spread throughout golf fans. ‘Korean Tank’ Choi Kyung-Ju (32, Superior) showed off his great play of US PGA Tour Championship.

Round 1(total prize money of 0.5 billion won & Championship prize of 0.1 billion won) of the 45th KOLON KOREA OPEN held in Han Yang CC New Out Course, Goyang-si Gyeonggi-do on September 6

As specially-invited golfers, both of them played a tight match for two days.

Garcia took a lead with 12 under par and 132 strokes by taking 7 birdies without bogey. Choi Kyung-Ju was after him with 9 under par and 135 strokes by decreasing 6 strokes

After the match, Garcia showed a will for championship saying “I am satisfied with my play. I like to play on a windy day like today. I will do my best for the weekend game.”

Besides, Choi Kyung-Ju had 7 birdies like Garcia and tried toward the third Korea Open Championship.

Especially, Mr. Choi had all birdies in the last three holes and ended the Round 3 happily.

Choi Kyung-Ju said “I had good putting sense. I will do my best to repay cheering of fans. Garcia seemed to have the driver shot like yesterday for fans service. He will have various shots from tomorrow.”

Gang Uk-Sun (36, Samsung Electronics) had total 10 under pars by decreasing 4 strokes to the 12th hole. Gang Uk-Sun started in the 10th hole had the bogey in the 11th hole, but had an eagle in 14th hole (par 5).

‘Forever Player’ Choi Sang-Ho lost 2 strokes to the 12th hole.
