Kim Dae-up, who raised a draft-dodging allegation against the first son of opposition party’s presidential candidate Lee, said on August 9 that he indeed has a tape recording, and he will submit the evidence on the 12th to prove his claim.

“I will either hold a press conference with a civic organization or submit the tape to the prosecutor’s office directly,” Kim Dae-up said. “The original copy is with Kim’s brother who is now staying in Australia,” said Kim’s lawyer. “The copied one, which is now in a bank safe, will be opened to the public soon.”

Prosecutors investigating the case said that a former military hospital associate who Kim Dae-up said helped Lee’s first son Jeong-yeon get exempted from military services, is now staying in the U.S.

“I recorded a tape secretly when the associate acknowledged his involvement in Jeong-yeon’s draft-dodging,” Kim Dae-up has maintained.

The prosecutor’s office will summon next week those who have been involved in the medical examination including Dr. Baek Il-suh (42), former chief staff at Chuncheon Hospital.
