2002 Best Industrial Design LG Cion Presidential Award

On 23rd July, the Ministry of Commerce, Industry and Energy with Korea Institute of Design Promotion have announced the following.

LG Electronics’ mobile phone model, LG Cion was awarded the ‘2002 Best Industrial Design (GD)’ Presidential Award and Samsung Electronics’ portable DVD player was awarded Prime Minister Award (Best Award).

The distinctive features of the Award subjects are revolving LCD and aluminum parts of LG Cion and 23mm slim fashion design of Samsung portable DVD player. For Minister of Commerce, Industry and Energy Award, the Metallica, kitchen furniture from NEFS and fifteen other products were chosen.

In this year’s GD competition, a total of 861 products were submitted. That is 15% more than the previous year. 52 products selected for awards. The awarding ceremony will be held on July 24th 10:30 a.m. at Korea Design Center in Bundang-gu, Seongnam city. Tel: 031-780-2019
