The Americans who worried about additional terror were strained because there was a shootout in front of the Israeli airline check in counter at the Los Angeles International Airport and 2 passengers were killed on the American Independence Day.

The FBI and the City of Los Angeles announced, “it is an independent crime which is not related to terror,” but the Israeli government insisted, “it is another terror against Israel because the culprit chose the Israeli airline out of many airlines.”

According to the American press, at around 11:30 (local time) in the morning of that day, a 52-year-old Egyptian male shot his pistol in front of the El Al Airlines counter so two people including a female in her twenties were died and several people such as passengers and security officers were injured. The culprit suddenly shot his pistol toward the passengers lined up at the counter and ran toward the counter but a security officer shot him to death while he was struggling with another officer.

Right after the incident, an evacuation order was in place at the Thomas Bradley Terminal where the El Al Airlines was moved in so thousands of people took shelter and planes using this terminal were delayed for hours. But the other 8 terminals of the airport were operated normally.

On December of 1985, there also was a incident that terrorists threw grenades and shot guns to the ticket booth of the El Al Airlines at the Rome Airport in Italy so 17 were killed and 100 were injured.

Meanwhile, a personal light plane crashed at Frank Bonely Park, which was 48km east of Los Angeles, so 4 adults were killed and 12 people including children, who were picnicking with their parents, were injured.
