KFTWU, “Comprehensive Strike on 24th ”

152 Taxi labor unions belonging to Korean Federation of Taxi Worker`s Union (KFTWU), in succession with Korean Health and Medical Worker`s Union(KHMWU) and Korean Metal Worker`s Federation(KMWF) under Korean confederation of Trade Union (KCTU), submitted application for adjusting labor dispute to Central Committee of Labor (CCL).

And KFTWU stated to start comprehensive strike on 24th, in case CCL fails to adjust.

KFTWU urges △ abolition of payment of company △ security of wages for life △ progress of monthly salary in work place following `concentrated dispute for period of group negotiation for wages` of KCTU.

KFTWU requested the government abolition regarding paying LPG expenditure by driver, carrying out reformation of taxi industry and punishing owners who violate whole amount management system, etc.

It also insisted 3 demands of KCTU, △ progressing five day work system without sacrificing minor companies and irregular workers △ withdrawal of pressurizing labor △ withdrawal of privatization of public companies and stressed to start comprehensive strike on 24th after opening ceremony of comprehensive strike on 20th.

It stated,“ if government and company ignores demands of labor unions till the end of this month in spite of strike that is scheduled to start on 24th we will conduct all-out dispute mobilizing every means in 10 cities where World cup will be held”.
