“These things are prohibited to taken into the stadium.”

Japan Organizing Committee for the 2002 FIFA World Cup Korea/Japan (JAWOC) announced ` the `rules for spectators and visitors to stadia and other facilities` containing prohibited items and requests.

The prohibited items no. 1 are the objects, which may be used as weapons such as flagpoles, camera single-stands or tripods, and unfolding umbrellas. Flammable matters like firecrackers and gunpowder, and the objects considered as intended to be thrown like bottles, cans, PET bottles, and confetti are also not allowed to be taken into the stadium. Neither are Alcoholic beverages. One can drink only beer sold by paper cups in the stadium. Prohibited items should be seized and returned after the play.

JAWOC is worried about umbrellas, as World Cup period is the rainy season, when every person carries an umbrella. JAWOC will allow taking into the folding umbrella, but recommends putting on rainwear.

In addition, JAWOC requested people to comply with searches of luggage and requesting identification card. It reiterated that the person whose names on the ID card and on the ticket are different might not be admitted to enter, which is designed to prevent reselling or transferring.
