Vice presidents of the Grand National Party (GNP), including Yang Jung-Kyu, Choi Byung-Ryul, and Kang Chang-Hee, are going to present their will to resign taking responsibility for the factional struggles in the party at the party`s presidential group meeting on 25th.

Their resignation will cause the other vice presidents resignation, and president Lee Hoi-Chang seems to temporarily manage the party with the party`s `three posts` instead of the `presidential group` to relieve the factional struggles.

A vice president said, “The presidential group already lost its meaning due to four vice presidents` stepping down, such as Park Geun-Hae, Kang Sam-Jae, Lee Bu-Young, and Ha Soon-Bong. And the party`s May convention is just ahead. Therefore, we decided to resign for the sake of the party`s renovation.”

He added that, “President Lee plans to step back from the party affairs after his declaration of running for the party`s presidential race. The party will be managed by an acting president`s interim system until the May convention.”

Spokesperson Nam Kyung-Phil said, “If all the vice presidents resign, president Lee will prepare a measure according to the party`s constitution and rules. But there is no possibility for the forming of an emergency body, which was insisted by a certain group.”
