All Baggage of All Entrants Will Be Examined

The custom investigation will be much more strengthened from March, anticipating longer lines to get an entry permit and more disclosures of illegal items.

The National Tax Service announced yesterday that, for the security during the World Cup period, metal detect and X-ray examination will be carried out on every entrant and the baggage. By now, the examination has been done on selected items.

NTS is also planning to increase the special intensive searches on the flights that have passengers having criminal records from current 2 up to 5-6 flights.

Kim Jin-Young, director of investigation and surveillance of NTS, said that "we will try our best to minimize the inconvenience of the passengers by deploying more experts and high tech devices."

NTS also decided to intensify the investigation on the overseas corporation and the companies, which established their branches in so-called tax refugees that are probably related to criminals, to block the illegal currency flow to the foreign nations. NTS is also planning to carry out planned investigation on the illegal out-flow of foreign currency by the insolvent companies.

NTS will closely analyze the overseas wire for overseas tour expenses, donations, and emigration fund in order to monitor any illegal money flow under pretense of personal expenses.
