An Egyptian paper quoted a U.S. source on the 25th that Syria is developing strategic arms with the help of North Korea.

After the president Bashar Assad succeeded the former president Hafez Assad who died in 2000, Syria is reportedly firming up military cooperation with North Korea by introducing intermediate range Rodong missiles and discussing cooperation in nuclear field.

U.S. intelligence authority sees that Syria, which holds lots of short-range missiles, is contacting with North Korea to secure intermediate and long-range missiles.
