With regard to the lawsuit against Kim Young-Dae, the president of Darim Vision and the brother of Science and Technology Minister Kim Young-Hwan, the Prosecution and the Policy have been ignorant of the accusations from the complaints for several times.
When the written accusation against President Kim in August last year was filed for charge of misappropriation, fraud, and the violation of the foreign exchange control law, the Daejeon District Prosecution transferred the case to the North Police Station where the company was located.
However, the police carried out an investigation on the plaintiffs but did not investigate President Kim, and returned the case to the Prosecution with it recommendation for rejecting the case.
The Prosecution also closed the case 3 months later in November for the reason that the case is too complex to be decided and that there is no concrete evidence.
A related official of the Prosecution revealed that "The documents presented by the plaintiffs included no evidence to prove the suspicions and the case was too complex to be simply decided. So, the complaints were rejected by the maturity of the processing period."
However, the plaintiffs asserted that they submitted "enough materials to prove the guilt of President Kim and filed a separate request for the investigation specifically on the misappropriation. But no investigation was made."
The plaintiffs especially asserted that "The requests for investigation on the persons who could testify on the crimes of President Kim were also rejected."
With the re-surfacing of suspicion, the Daejeon District Prosecution assigned the case to the Special Investigation Team and set for re-investigation on the 22nd.
A Prosecution official said, "The Prosecution assigned the case to the Special Investigation team since the plaintiffs added new materials in the recently presented appeal and the case was judged as requiring a thorough investigation."
Meanwhile, Minister Kim commented yesterday that "I have never been involved in the management of my brother`s business. And I don`t think my brother did anything wrong."
