Mr. Kim Yong-Chae Suspected of Bribery, Three Involved Politicians under Investigation

The Incheon District Prosecutors Office issued an arrest warrant for Mr. Kwon (40), the former chairman of a Dongdaemun 2nd district party chapter of United Liberal Democrats, and arrested him, who is suspected of having received 30 million won from Mr. Choi, the former president of Seoul Metal in Namdong industrial complex in Incheon, and introduced Kim Yong-chae, vice president of the ULD to Mr.Choi, who solicited for provision of public fund.

And the Prosecution is searching the disappeared former advisory of Millennium Democratic Party Mr. Hur (46), who received 50 million won from Mr. Choi for helping him get the certification of payment from Korea Credit Guarantee Fund. In addition, the Prosecution collected information that Mr. Choi gave about 10 million won to Mr. A, who was a lawmaker during the Chun Doo-Hwan government, and is investigating whether he is involved in the corruption of soliciting.

Mr. Choi stated in the prosecutor`s office, "After I was introduced to vice president of the ULD Mr. Kim, I visited him three or four times and requested for providing fund."

And the Prosecution is investigating whether Mr. Choi prepared 3 billion won for a discretionary fund and lobbied other high officials of political and administrational circle for the provision of public fund amounted 95 billion won.

The vice president of the ULD Mr. Kim is likely to appear at the Prosecutor`s Office on 29th afternoon.
