Park Chan-Ho Deals with Texas Rangers for 5 Year 70 Million

`Korean Express` Park Chan-Ho (28) is going to the Texas Rangers to play the role of an ace, leaving the LA Dodgers in which he played for 8 years.

The U.S.`s major newspapers reported yesterday that free agent Park Chan-Ho agreed to join the Texas Rangers on 70 million dollars (about 91 billion won) for next 5 years, and he will officially sign as soon as the particulars will be attuned, quoting CBS Sportsline senior writer Scott Miller.

Even though the Rangers` office did not make an official announcement and Park`s agent Scott Boras declined to declare the deal, it is known that the deal was actually confirmed.

Because both sides need the time for tuning the particulars such as contract period, salary, and options, the official announcement of the club will be made on 22nd at earliest, or at the beginning of next week at the latest.

Meanwhile, Park`s former team LA Dodgers announced that it signed Japan-born pitcher Nomo Hideo (33), who had played for the Boston Red Sox this year, on 13 million dollars for 2 years. Thus, it seems plausible for Park to go to the Rangers.
