GNP Cooperates to Enliven People`s Livelihood and Domestic Economy

With regard to President Kim Dae-Jung`s resignation from the president of the New Millennium Democratic Party (NMDP), Grand National Party Spokesperson Kwon Cheol-Hyun said, ``It is regretful of President Kim`s late resignation, but it was a good decision. Our party will make every effort to cooperate with President Kim Dae-Jung, who has concentrated on revitalizing peoples` livelihood and the domestic economy.``

Spokesperson Kwon commented, ``In order for president`s decision to gain peoples` approval, the government should construct the emergent neutral cabinet to properly reflect the will of the people by the holistic reform of personnel management and the establishment of communication channel. We hope that President Kim would recover the trust of people and take the people-centered politic through the resolute following measures.``

And United Liberal Democrats Spokesperson Jung Jin-Seok said, ``We call for grave reflection of the ruling party that has lacked the responsible politic and has generated the confusion of policies. We hope President Kim Dae-Jung to lead the government giving priority to the livelihood of people beyond the private and political interests.``
