6,900 Elementary Teachers to Be Hired Next Year

16 metropolitan and provincial offices of education throughout the nation announced on Oct. 15 that they decided to hire 6,900 elementary teachers and conduct the appointment examination on Nov. 25.

Application forms will be distributed and accepted from Nov. 1 to 6, and the first written exam and the second will be conducted on Nov. 25 and Dec.20 ~ 22. The final results will be announced on Jan. 8 next year.

Those who have a certificate of elementary teacher or who are anticipated to graduate in Feb. next year, and those who are within an age range of 40 to 45 are qualified for the exanimations. The age restriction differs in each office of education.

The volumes of recruitment (except kindergarten and elementary school special education teachers) by offices of education are: Kyunggi 2100 (the highest), Seoul 850, Kyungnam 500, Pusan 450, Daegu 400, Chungnam 400, Kyungbuk 400, Chungbuk 370, Incheaon 350, Chungnam 300, Chungbuk 215, Kangwon 210, Ulsan 122, Daecheon 130, Jeju 100 and Kwangju 70.
