Minister Ahn Resigned

President Kim Dae-Jung accepted the resignation of the Minister of Construction and Transportation, Ahn Jeong-Nam, against whom the suspicions about his accumulation of properties had been raised.

Cheong Wa Dae announced yesterday that ``the hospital advised Minister Ahn for a long-term hospitalization. Thus, the President did not want to create a vacuum situation in the Ministry of Construction and Transportation. His successor will be appointed in a few days.`` Minister Ahn expressed his intention to resign from his office because of his health problem.
