Re-Summon of Two Owners of Media Companies

Seoul District Prosecutor`s office has investigated the alleged tax evasion by major media companies and re-summoned Cho Hee-Joon former presidents of Kookmin Ilbo and former president of Hankook Ilbo Chang Chae -Kuen in the morning of the 9th after having them to return to their homes at midnight.

An official related prosecutor`s office said, ``We re-summoned them, accepting their request. In the case of Mr. Chang, we will investigate not only the alleged tax evasion but also the charge of misfeasance in office if it is necessary.`` Mr. Chang was charged with the misfeasance in office with other 11 stockholders.

Former vice president of Dong-a Ilbo Kim Byung-Kun returned home 3 a.m. on the 9th after a round of questioning by prosecutors. Seoul District Prosecutor`s office will summon and investigate the former honorary chairman of the Dong-a Ilbo Kim Byung-Kwan and the president of Chosun Ilbo Bang Sang-Hoon; and this will be the last summon of the defendants related tax evasion.

The office official said, `` We will decide details of punishments; and next week is highly probable for the time of the decision.``
