Israel has launched a devastating missile strikes on the Palestinian security headquarters in Gaza city on May 10th, wounding 20 people. Israeli tanks and armored motorcars entered Gaza city marching about 700 m and attacked the headquarters of the Palestinian police. The Palestinians argued that Israeli army had never entered deep into Gaza city like this time.

Israeli military sources said that the attack was in response to a roadside bomb that killed two Romanian workers working on a border fence on May 10th.

The Israeli press also reported that Palestinian people attacked the Gaza border fence, seriously wounding one soldier.

In relation to this incident, ‘Palestine Liberation Organization’ argued that the attack was in response to a death of a four-month-old baby who was killed by gun- shot.

Meanwhile, an effort for peaceful settlement was made, as Israeli Minister of state of political affairs visited Egypt to discuss peace arbitrary treaty proposed by Egypt and Jordan.

Yasser Arafat announced that if Israel government accepts the proposal, the Palestine will stop the combat immediately and will be ready to discuss peace negotiation. Since last September, total 520 people were killed during the conflict between Israel and Palestine, including 426 Palestinian people, 78 Israeli people, 13 Israeli-Arab, 2 Romanians, and 1 German.
