Jeffrey Jones, president of the American Chamber of Commerce (AmCham) in Korea, said Thursday that some of his organization`s members will dispatch a delegation to North Korea as early as May.

At a seminar on Korean investments held in New York under the auspices of the Korea Society, headed by former U.S. ambassador to Korea Donald Gregg, the AmCham head said that a recent survey showed about 150 out of 900 members are interested in setting up businesses in North Korea.

Jones said that he has made a recommendation to the U.S. government that it resume negotiations on an investment agreement with South Korea so that the agreement could be signed during President George W. Bush`s visit to Seoul slated for October. He positively evaluated Korea`s restructuring in four major sectors including corporate, finance, labor and public, but was negative about the system of corporate bond takeovers.
