KCTU, students stage violent demonstration

Members of The Korean Confederation of Trade Unions (KCTU) and university students wield iron pipes and Molotov cocktails during a clash with police in front of the main gate of Yonsei University Thursday. The standoff occurred after a rally in front to Seoul Railway Station to honor the March 1 Independence Movement. Some rally participants staged a street demonstration to denounce the Kim Dae-Jung administration for what they saw as its failed reform efforts.
