Lee Chun-Soo bids to play in Serie A in Italy

Korea University soccer star Lee Chun-Soo, 20, is in Italy trying out for a spot on a prominent Italian league team. He arrived in Italy on Feb. 20 and played in a practice game for Serie A club Brescia two days later. After the game, Lee said, ``I think I am up to the challenge.``

Logging 60 minutes on the field for Brescia, currently in 13th place with four wins, eight draws and seven losses, Lee demonstrated his speed and mobility for Italian fans.

As a second-string attacking midfielder, he did not score or set up a goal but his confident style of play is thought to give him a good shot at a contract.

Korea e-Sports (www.soccero.com), which represents the former youth national team member, said that despite suffering from jet lag, Lee showed his dribbling skills and long pass capabilities.

Brescia, which invited him to Italy after assessing his skills by watching game tapes, will test him again next week.
