BAI chief briefs foreign envoys in Seoul

Lee Jong-Nam, director of the Board of Audit and Inspection (BAI), held a luncheon meeting Thursday with Seoul-based ambassadors from 20 Asian countries including Japan, China and Russia to brief them on preparations for the upcoming 17th International Organization of Supreme Audit Institutions (INTOSAI) conference. The conference, to be held in Seoul in October, is for chiefs of national audit and inspection bodies. At the luncheon meeting, Lee outlined Korea`s audit and inspection system and discussed recent BAI efforts to support public sector restructuring. He stressed the importance of international cooperation, including exchanges of know-how, in the audit and inspection field.
