57.2 billion won set aside to recover snow-hit areas

The government decided in a cabinet meeting Monday to spend 57.21 billion won on rehabilitation work related to the heavy snowfalls on Jan. 7-9. The meeting, which was chaired by President Kim Dae-Jung, was held at the Government Complex in central Seoul.

By sector, the amount breaks down to 50.88 billion won for the reconstruction of farming facilities, including cattle sheds and greenhouses, 5.27 billion won to rebuild facilities for growing medical herbs, and 1.05 billion won for educational expenses and the restoration of public buildings.
