U.S. Secretary of State Madeleine Albright advised the incoming administration Tuesday to maintain the Clinton government's policies on the Korean peninsula and the Balkans, saying foreign policies should not be altered every four years.

At her regular press conference, Albright explained the efforts of the outgoing administration to resolve missile problems by improving relations with North Korea and expressed her hope that the incoming administration of George W. Bush would complete the work with North Korea that President Bill Clinton began. The Secretary of State said the U.S. should seize the opportunity to help wipe out the last vestiges of the Cold War era in and around the Korean peninsula.
