FKTU to set up joint protest group with KCTU

The Federation of Korean Trade Unions (FKTU) has resolved to set up a joint protest committee with the Korean Confederation of Trade Unions (KCTU).

The KCTU will also discuss the establishment of the joint group on Tuesday and this is expected to spur winter protest rallies by the labor sector, opposing unilateral restructuring.

FKTU held an industry wide representative meeting at the Labor Union building and a resolution was passed to join hands with the KCTU and they also agreed to a hold a rally should their demands not be met. FKTU appointed one officer as a liaison to keep in contact with KCTU.

Also, 150 golf course caddies, insurance sales people and other special workers held a rally in front of the National Assembly demanding the establishment of labor protection laws.
