Higher ranks ordered fire at Nogun-ri

Two former U.S. soldiers who handled radio and message traffic in the Korean War have testified that American troops had orders from higher ranks to fire on civilian refugees at Nogun-ri.

The sworn statements by Lawrence Levine, 72, and James Crume, 72, assigned to the headquarters of the 2nd battalion, 7th Cavalry Regiment of the 1st Cavalry Division, prove for the first time that an order to shoot civilians was handed down from a higher command level.
